ABOUT US
Public Association “Human Rights Movement: Bir Duino-Kyrgyzstan” is the successor of the Public Association “Citizens against Corruption” (CAC), founded in May 2000, which is the successor of the first association “Coalition for Democracy and Civil Society”, established in December 1998. Since forming the Public Association “Citizens against Corruption”, the organization’s staff has made a big contribution to the development of the human rights movement in Kyrgyzstan.
BDK was created to promote civil, political, cultural and economic rights and other social useful objectives, using monitoring and analysis tools for human rights evaluation in Kyrgyzstan. To achieve the goal of creating an effective monitoring system, targeted at human rights evaluation, BDK seeks to increase civil participation among youth and marginalized groups of population using the existing frameworks laid out by the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic

THE MISSION

The mission of the Association is to protect human rights and freedoms on the principles of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights in order to promote human rights, respect for human dignity, universality and equality, the rule of law and democratic principles in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Andrea Kuhn,
Director of the Nuremberg International Human Rights Film Festival
Andrea Kuhn has been the director of the Nuremberg International Human Rights Film Festival since 2007. After starting her career as an academic researcher in Film Studies, she was the director of the silent film festival StummFilmMusikTage Erlangen from 2000 to 2010. Andrea also served as the chair of the Human Rights Film Network between 2008 and 2010, an international association currently consisting of 42 human rights film festivals from around the world. She serves on the board of Dox Box e.V., a non-traditional support organization focusing on the strengthening and empowerment of documentary filmmakers in the Arab World, and on the board of trustees of Foundation medico international.

Sofia Tocar graduated from Charles University in Prague where she successfully finished Master of History of Art and Architecture. During her studies she worked as a program assistant in Centre for Contemporary Art Futura and as a guide at Lobkowicz Collections. Then Sofia became part of Prague Civil Society Centre where she was coordinating visual communication projects and events in Eastern
Europe and Central Asia.
She was born and raised in Moldova. Sofia joined the IDF team in March 2019.

Ilya Nuzov
is the Head of Eastern Europe and Central Asia Desk at the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH), based in Paris.

Amanbek Azhimat works as videographer and editor in film company “Tazar” and the “Fund of Asian creative women”.
In 2013 he took course from Temir Birnazarov. The director of the documentary and play films. In 2015 he graduated from educational course in film academy of Netherlands ''Amsterdam University of the Arts”
IDFA Film Student. Specialties: “The director of the documentary films”. In 2016 he graduated from educational course in 5th international documentary films school under the filmographies’ unions confederation (Moscow). Specialties: The director of the documentary films.

Aizada Amangeldi
graduated from Kyrgyz-Turkish University "Manas", Faculty of Communications in the department of Radio-TV and Cinema, Saint-Petersburg State University of Cinema and Television, Master's degree in the direction of screenwriting and film studies. Worked on TV as a journalist. From 2017 to 2019 she worked for the film company "Shadow and Light" as a scriptwriter-editor, creative manager. From 2018-2020 worked in the creative group Stepanova P.M. as a screenwriter. Since 2020, a teacher at the State University of Arts named after Bubusara Beyshenalieva.
